One of our best kept secrets along the coast of Queensland is Double Island Point.
It looks like any old beach, you may say. But just wait, you’ll see.
Just look at those blues.
One of the best things about this spot is that its generally quiet, especially if you go on a week day.
It’s as if it’s waiting there just for you.
This was the ocean at its busiest.
Excluding the surfers and fisherman of course.
Ready to check out the view? I know I am.
If you’re going to walk up to the lighthouse I recommend shoes, water and a sunscreen top up. All of which we didn’t bring/do.
We at least brought our cameras so we aren’t completely useless.
Just look at that water.
I think this is my dads ‘why didn’t I bring my fishing rod’ face.
It’s certainly a good spot to throw in a line.
Ten points if you can spot the JetSki life jacket tan on my bro.
Now if you’re after the lighthouse it’s allllllll the way over there.
Looks like quit a bit of a trek doesn’t it. We happily stopped here and admired from afar.
To get here I recommend driving along the beach. But do be careful and watch for washouts. Many families will camp along the beach so keep an eye out for kids too.
Lewis looking for his homeland, New Zealand.
Don’t think he managed to find it.
Now I’m sure you’ve seen a lifeguard but have you seen an Australian lifeguard?
Literally just hanging out on a cliff watching all the swimmers.
The rest of our time here was spent back in the ocean (without our cameras) so I’ll leave you here.
If you’re ever on the Sunshine Coast be sure to check this spot out, you won’t regret it.
